WELCOME to SUPERTOUCH - It's Touch....with a KICK !

Come and play our relaxed and friendly non-contact sport for Mens and Mixed teams, as well as individuals wishing to play. SuperTouch combines the best elements of touch and oztag into a more exciting game. Our kicking options make it more similar to the backyard or school yard touch we all grew up playing, (see rules below). It also avoids the body contact and finger injuries so common in oztag.

SUPERTOUCH RULES

General Rules

  • SuperTouch is a version of touch football with the addition of the kicking options (see below). Normal touch rules apply with the addition of the following -
  • Maximum of 7 players on the field at one time. In mixed there is a maximum of 4 males allowed on the field at a time.
  • A female try is worth 2 points, a male try is worth 1 point.
  • There is no marker and the defensive team must be back 7m from the ruck at he discretion of the referee.
  • The defensive line can move forward only after the dummy half has touched the ball.
  • Dummy half can run the ball but cannot score or be touched even after it is kicked.
  • An attacker must stop and play the ball from where he/she was touched (the mark). You will be penalized if you play the ball more than one step over the mark.
  • Any dropped ball results in a turnover whether forward or backwards.
  • If an attacker passes the ball after they are touched, they will be penalized for a touch & pass.
  • A penalty will be given if a player dives on the ball in the field of play or over the try line. Players can dive to score a try only when in constant possession of the ball.
  • If touched in possession over your own try line, a line drop out will result.

Kicking Rules

  • Restarts must be a drop kick from the ½ way line, after a try is scored (scorers kick), as well as the start of the game and half time. The ball may travel at any height.
  • The team kicking off cannot contest the ball until after it has landed and gone 10m or the opposition has touched it.
  • If the kick-off goes over the dead-ball line on the full, a penalty to the defending team will be given back at the ½ way line.
  • If the kick-off lands first and then rolls across the dead ball line or touch in goal lines whether touched or not a line drop out occurs.
  • Kicks in General play can be made any time after the 4th touch and at any height, but You cannot kick the ball a 2nd time until after you have regained possession.
  • If a kick in general play goes over the dead ball line or touch in goal, it is a 5m restart to the defending team. Over the sideline the defending team plays the ball from where it went out.
  • If a defender is touched ingoal a line drop out occurs.
  • If a kick is taken on the full in your ingoal area you may claim a mark and play the ball from 5m out from the try line.
  • You cannot KICK OR DIVE on a ball that is already on the ground AT ANY TIME.
  • You may score by putting downward pressure on the ball as long as you are still on your feet.
  • If a defender fumbles the ball in their ingoal area the ref will play advantage to the attacking side to see if they can score. If not, a line dropout occurs.
