ASLAN LIONS 2

At the end of a tumultuous first season which saw the Aslan Lions win only one game, it was clear that the playing talents of Amy, Phil, Evan and Samuel were being under utilised by coach Joshua. As reported in many sections of the media, many heated exchanges between players and coaching staff were tearing the club apart. While the management committee was happy to give Josh time to develop his list, Samuel, in particular was very unhappy with this. Priding himself on his blistering speed, he felt that he could scorch the opposition, however, contractual obligations meant he could not leave the club.

As tempers flared, it was decided that a second Lions team would be able to compete in the D grade comp, bolstering the club's playing talent by recruiting young players from around the country. The search stretched all the way from Cherrybrook to St. Clair as firstly, Alison was signed. Former backyard international Chat and rookie Stacey brought youth to the side, while a need for some lankyness was met by Angus putting pen to paper in October. For aggression in the forwards, Chris was brought in, assuring the new coach that he had been working hard on his touching style so as not to bring trouble from the judiciary. The team's make up was complete with the signing of Clare, the team's massage therapist.

With a strong and dedicated playing list, both fans and team management expect nothing short of victory from the Lions in this year's competition, Well, in two games anyway... The match up with the original Lions will be one to remember, with a few scores to settle, expect some blood on the pitch...
